At Combined Air Mechanical Services we are current on all local, provincial and federal regulations. Also, we communicate these to you as required. Ever since the potable (drinkable) water incident at Walkerton most municipalities have adopted by-laws to ensure that contaminated water does not enter the potable water system. The following municipalities, cities and regions have adopted local by laws; Toronto, Markham, Halton, Midland, Peterborough, Brantford, Guleph, Cambridge, Kitchener, London and Orillia. It is expected that all areas in Ontario will introduce By-laws in the future. “Cross Connection” control also falls under the Ontario Building Code.
This By-law outlines the requirement for Cross Connection protection. The following excerpt is taken from the By-law.
“CROSS CONNECTION -- Any actual or potential connection between the waterworks and any source of pollution, contamination, or other material or substance that could change the quality of water in the waterworks.”
We will assist your company to comply with the By-law and ensure that you provide your employees with safe drinking water and that your facilities do not run the risk of contaminating the City’s supply lines.
